Baker's Karate Academy was founded in 1987 and is the successor to the Whitener-Nichols School of Martial Arts (established in 1969).  Since that time, the academy has provided quality, traditional instruction to hundreds of students in Southeast Missouri.  Chief Instructors Larry Whitener and David Nichols maintain a watchful eye on the academy to insure that the highest standards are maintained.
Students receive intense training in basics, traditional forms, traditional weapons, sparring, and grappling (standing & ground).  Sport karate training is also included in the curriculum.

Baker's Karate Academy offers safe, exciting and challenging classes for students of all ages.  There are no contracts, association fees or hidden costs.

Baker's Karate Academy is a fully equipped training center with mirrors, padded floor, separate matted area for grappling and training equipment to enhance your martial arts skills.  Qualified, experienced instructors help each student reach their personal goals.

Baker's Karate Academy proudly traces our roots to Grandmaster Jhoon Rhee, the father of Taekwondo in America.  We maintain the high standards passed down to us.  Frequent visitors at the academy include  living legends, masters and champions who share their knowledge with our students.
