Rob Baker began training in martial arts more than 25 years ago under the direction of Mr. Larry Whitener and Mr. David Nichols.  He continues to study, and, has had the opportunity to train with some of the best instructors in the world, including Dan Inosanto, Herman Suwanda, Carlos Machado,  Kiyoshi Nishime, Jim Harrison, Ted Lucaylucay, Larry Hartsell, Terry Gibson and Marc McFann.  He readily shares his knowlege with his students.  His diverse background provides students at Baker's Karate Academy a unique opportunity to learn from a variety of disciplines.

Mr. Baker is a former regionally rated martial arts competitor, having been ranked in forms, sparring and weapons divisions by the Professional Karate League.

Mr. Baker is a Missouri P.O.S.T. certified law enforcement trainer and has taught police officers across the United States.  He continues to teach Defensive Tactics.

Mr. Baker has been honored on the floor of the Missouri State Senate.  He was inducted in to the Rakkasan's Hall of Fame, United States Martial Arts Association Hall of Fame and awarded the Grey Eagle Lifetime Achievement Award.

Rob  personally teaches most of the classes at the academy and is assisted by his senior students.  He leads by example and encourages his students to never settle for less than their best !  He inspires every student to reach their goals.
